Understanding Bids & Freelancer Stats

What all the numbers on a bid card actually mean, and how to use them to make better hiring decisions.

Star Rating

The rating shown on each freelancer's profile is the average of all client reviews they've received on BidTable. Ratings are on a 1-5 scale.

A freelancer with no completed projects will show "No reviews yet" instead of a star rating. This doesn't mean they're bad -- they might be new to the platform or have done most of their work elsewhere.

Job Success Rate

This percentage reflects how often a freelancer completes projects without disputes or refunds. It factors in completed projects, client satisfaction, and whether milestones were delivered on time.

90%+ is considered good. Below 80% might be a yellow flag, but check the context -- sometimes a single difficult client can tank an otherwise solid track record.

Bid Amount vs. Budget

The bid amount is what the freelancer proposes to charge for the whole project. It might be above or below your posted budget. Bids above budget aren't necessarily bad -- the freelancer might be pricing in more thorough work.

Be cautious of bids that are dramatically below your budget. Very low bids sometimes mean the freelancer underestimated the scope, which can lead to problems later.

Completed Projects

The number of projects a freelancer has completed on BidTable. This doesn't include work they've done outside the platform. A freelancer with 2 completed projects but 10 years of experience might be new to BidTable, not new to freelancing.

Badges

Top Rated means the freelancer has a rating of 4.7+ with at least 10 completed projects. Fast Delivery means they've completed 80%+ of projects ahead of schedule. These badges are system-generated, not self-assigned.
