BidTable started because we were tired of the same freelancer marketplace problems everyone complains about: sky-high platform fees, race-to-the-bottom pricing, and clients who ghost after the first revision. We figured there had to be a better way.
Founded in late 2022 by a small team in Columbus, Ohio, BidTable focuses on creative work: web design, branding, illustration, motion graphics, and related fields. We deliberately kept the scope narrow so we could build a platform that actually understands what creative freelancers and their clients need.
What makes us different
Our fee structure is straightforward: 8% on the freelancer side, nothing on the client side. No hidden charges, no premium listing upsells, no "connect" tokens. You bid on a project, the client picks you, and you do the work.
We also built an escrow system that actually works. Clients fund milestones upfront, freelancers get paid when work is approved. If there's a dispute, our support team mediates (and we have real humans doing it, not a bot).
The team
We're a team of 11 people. Most of us have freelanced at some point, and a few of us still take on side projects. Our engineering team is in Columbus, with a few remote folks scattered across the US and Canada.
